With Tippie

I have painted with acrylics, oils, soft pastels and watercolors. I have used these media on canvas, paper, greeting cards, wood and rocks. The subjects have included landscapes, still life, portraits of people and animals. My other interests include the welfare of animals. I have combined these two interests to focus my art on my love of animals to paint pet portraits (and their people when requested) in soft pastels. I use soft pastels, with velour paper, because they give a very realistic and beautiful painting of your subject. They are delicate and should be handled with the same care as all valuable works of art. I often take pictures of dogs I encounter on walks and use these photographs as the basis for my work on a particular breed. I also accept commissions to paint individual pets.
